Out when the sun is on the terrace. In before the storm.
Seven short steps, about two minutes. The price updates as you go. Nothing is charged here — you send me the build, I come back with a drawing.
One going up, start to finish.
Width is along the wall. Projection is how far it comes out over you.
An awning has to slope, or water sits on it. At a 3.00 m projection the front bar ends up 60 cm lower than the wall bracket — that’s the minimum 20% fall. So if you want 2.2 m of headroom at the front, the bracket goes on at about 2.8 m.
Powder-coated aluminium, 6063 alloy. Cast hinges, 304 stainless chain and fixings. Three standard colours, all the same price.
Two cloths. Both block 99% of the UV, both are dyed right through the fibre, so the colour can't wash out of them. What you're choosing is how new it still looks in ten summers.
Six degrees off the equator the sun comes straight down, and it doesn’t let up in December. It isn’t the frame it goes after — it’s the colour. The polyester holds up well. The acrylic is what European makers fit when they want to stop thinking about it: Sauleda publish a measured fastness of 7–8 on a scale that ends at 8, and put a decade of warranty behind it in their own name.
So it isn't a better awning today. It's a mill in Spain being on the hook for how yours looks in 2036.
Rain, straight up
A tropical downpour is not drizzle. Light rain, moderate rain — stay where you are. When it really opens up, wind it in: twenty seconds on the handset and the cloth is back inside a closed cassette, dry. Neither cloth is waterproof, and no awning in this class is. This is a sun awning that handles rain, not a roof.
Screen colours are indicative — the cloth is dyed in the fibre and reads slightly deeper in daylight.
All optional. Skip any of them and nothing else changes.
Dooya DC8811, wireless, runs off its own small solar panel — nothing to wire or charge.
What it actually does: the awning is rated to about 40 km/h of wind and the instructions say to retract it well before that. In the wet season the squall arrives before you do. The sensor closes it while you are out — which is exactly when it would otherwise be left open. It can also roll the awning out when the sun hits a set brightness; that half can be switched off.
Of everything on this page, this is the one I'd tell my own family to take. An awning that looks after itself while the house is empty is a different thing from one that needs somebody home.

LED strip in silicone, dimmable, run inside the arms and along the cassette. Wiring is hidden — it's fitted at the factory, it can't be added later.
It is dark by half six, every night of the year. Without light the terrace ends when the sun does; with it, the evening becomes the part of the day you actually use.
A raised hood along the top of the cassette that closes the gap between it and the wall or soffit above.
When you want it: if the awning tucks up tight under an eave or a second storey. Without it, water running down the wall finds its way behind the cassette instead of off the front. On an open wall with nothing above, skip it.
We deliver; we don't install. It's a two-person job for a local installer — half a day. The brackets are the only thing holding the awning up, so they need real structure behind them. Concrete and block walls take them directly, and that is what villas here are built from.
Six to eight weeks from the day you approve the drawing to the day it's at your door. That's the whole thing, not a step in it.
It is longer than a shop that sells off a shelf, and that's the trade: nothing is sitting on a shelf. Yours is cut to your wall after you approve the drawing, then it comes to you directly. That's the same reason it costs what it costs.
Five years on the frame and motor, two years on the fabric. Sauleda carry their own 10-year warranty on the acrylic. A hundred days to send it back.
Payment, when you get that far, runs through the shop's own checkout — we never take card details over the phone or by message.
Stand back in the garden and get the whole wall in. It tells me more about brackets and height than any measurement, and it means fewer questions later.
Sending this doesn't order anything and doesn't charge you. It comes straight to me, and I come back with a drawing of your wall with the size on it.

Your build is with me. I'll come back with a drawing and confirm the size before anything else happens.
