Warranty
This warranty is given by Mansahaus. It sits on top of your rights under the Australian Consumer Law — it does not replace them or take anything away from them.
What is covered, and for how long
| Component | Period | Covers |
|---|---|---|
| Aluminium frame, arms, cassette, brackets | 5 years | Structural failure, weld failure, arm-spring failure, powder-coat blistering or flaking |
| Motor, remote, wind sensor, control electronics | 5 years | Failure to run, failure to hold limits, electronic faults not caused by supply or water ingress from a bad install |
| Fabric | 2 years | Seam separation, delamination, manufacturing defects, and colour loss beyond normal fading for the grade supplied |
| LED strip and driver, where fitted | 2 years | Dead segments, driver failure |
Cover starts on the delivery date and stays with the awning if you sell the house — it is attached to the unit, not to you. We do not require you to register anything: your order number is the warranty.
What is not covered
- Wind damage above the rated limit. The awning is rated to hold steady fully extended at 40 km/h (Beaufort 5). Leaving it out in a storm is what the wind sensor is for.
- Installation faults — fixings into unsuitable substrate, brackets short of the specified spacing, or an electrical connection not made by a licensed electrician.
- Normal ageing — gradual, even fading of fabric under Australian UV, and light surface chalking of powder-coat after year five.
- Mould or staining from leaves and debris left on a retracted awning, and any damage from cleaning with solvents, high-pressure washers or abrasives.
- Impact, vandalism, hail, falling branches, fire, flood and anything your home insurance is for.
- Modification of the frame, motor or control wiring by anyone other than us.
How to claim
Email hello@mansahaus.com with your order number, a photograph or short video of the problem, and a one-line description of what it does. In most cases that is enough — we do not send an assessor out to look for a reason to say no.
We aim to respond within one business day and to resolve a claim within 10 business days of agreeing what is wrong. We will repair, supply the replacement part, or replace the awning. Where a fault amounts to a major failure under the Australian Consumer Law, the choice between refund and replacement is yours.
You bear the expense of claiming — realistically, sending us photographs. We bear the cost of parts, labour and freight both ways on a valid claim. If a claim turns out not to be covered, we will tell you before any cost is incurred and quote the repair instead.
Keeping cover valid
There is no service schedule and no mandatory paid inspection. Two things only: rinse the fabric with plain water and a soft brush a couple of times a year, and retract the awning when you are away or when wind is forecast above the rating. Do those and the warranty stands.
